The impacts of enforcing Rights of Nature through jurisdictional guarantees in Ecuador

Abstract
The constitutional guarantees mostly used to implement the Rights of Nature in Ecuador have been the jurisdictional guarantees, which in essence represent a sanctioning style of implementation. Most studies analyse the quantitative impacts when executing these mechanisms – number of sentences. This journal article analyses the quality of the jurisdictional mechanisms and the effectiveness of their results. Concluding in a learning framework that evidence the lack of preventive environmental policies pro nature.
